Delhi High Court Asks Govt To Supply Oxygen And Refillers To Struggling Hospitals
When people are suffocating to survive due to deadly coronavirus, there are people from industry and different diaspora who came forward to help. Amid this crisis, Trust legal mounted an emergency application on behalf of Super Speciality Venkateshwar Hospital - Delhi, for urgent oxygen supply to save the lives of hundreds of admitted patients.
Here is the win-win situation for all applicants. The Hon’ble Delhi high court few minutes back presided by Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli passed suitable verbal directions to Delhi Government to immediately take steps for the supply of allocated oxygen to the Venkateshwar hospital. The matter was represented by Mr Sacchin Puri Senior Advocate assisted by Sudhir Mishra and Petal Chandhok Partners of Trustlegal.
The Court has asked the Delhi government to supply oxygen and refillers to all the struggling hospitals on an immediate basis.
The bench also asked the Delhi government to take a deep look at why the black marketing of oxygen cylinders and crucial medicines for treating COVID patients is still going on.
A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli observed it was not the time to become vultures.
“Are you aware of black marketing. Is it a good human gesture?”, the bench said to oxygen refillers.
The bench further said this is a mess that the state government has been unable to resolve.
“You have the power, take action against those engaging in black marketing of oxygen cylinders and medicines,” it said.
The hearing is still going on.
