Consolidated Effort Is More Needed For Indian Healthcare Industry
On the fifth BW Businessworld Summit, the eminent panel discussed on a burning issue of what ticks the healthcare industry.
Discussion took place among panellists, Sudhir Mishra, founder and MD, Trust Legal, Mahipal Sachdeva, chairman, Center for sight, Sanjeet Singh, Executive VP, Medicabazar, Sanjeev Dang, ENT specialist, Sanjay Bapna, Head Strategy & business development, Inform DS Technologies.
The discussion was based on, ‘What makes Healthcare Industry Tick’.
Sudhir has raised a valid point on how the medical device can really present their right view if they have done right and how the doctor will present a right image of themselves.
Mahipal was of the view that Hospitality cannot be compared to healthcare as hospitality isn't a necessity but healthcare is a necessity. Doctors too need advocacy to present their fraternity to avoid being a wrong target for patients outrage. He focussed on how he got inspiration to someone who was eyeing Nobel prize. While dealing with technology and choices Mahipal clearly suggested that doctors are more important to him than technology.
Sanjeet threw light on how healthcare fraternity needs to think out of the box. He also advocated about outsourcing of activities that are not core practice of a healthcare group.
Sanjeev accepted that the perception towards healthcare services has changed a lot. "We don't spend time with patient and technology has to be blamed for it", said Sanjeev. He is in favour of teaching a balanced use of technology to upcoming healthcare professionals. Being critical to the excessive use of Artificial intelligence and robotics he said what happens if a robot one day denies treating you on the technical basis even if a patient is alive.
Sanjay told the panel that overindulgence and under indulgence have played their parts in healthcare trade. He has asked for a good balance between technology and humans. Sanjay believes that a two to three days stay at a hospital needs hardly 30 minutes of technology assistance.
