Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has underscored a notable surge in mutual fund investments within Assam over the last five years. According to him, there has been a substantial increase of 159 per cent, with investments rising from Rs 11,298 crore to Rs 29,268 crore. Sarma views this growth as a testament to Assam's significant contribution to India's economic narrative, indicating a strong trust in the state's markets and a rise in the incomes of its people.
Taking to his social media handle, the Chief Minister proudly shared these statistics, emphasising the mammoth growth witnessed in Assam's mutual fund sector. He highlighted the confidence that the people of Assam have in their local markets, reflecting positively on the overall India Growth Story. Sarma's statement also acknowledges Assam's leading role as a contributor to mutual funds within the northeastern region, particularly from 2020 to 2024.
