In an email communication to customers. Flipkart-owned flights and hotel-booking platform, Cleartrip, has alerted its users of a major data breach in its internal systems.
“This is to inform you that there has been a security anomaly that entailed illegal and unauthorised access to a part of Cleartrip’s internal systems,” read the email notification.
The company, however, maintains that no sensitive information has been leaked or compromised. “We are completely mindful that this would be of concern to you. We would like to assure you that aside from some details which are a part of your profile, no sensitive information pertaining to your Cleartrip account has been compromised as a result of this anomaly of our systems,” the company added.
The company also suggested that users reset their passwords, as a precautionary measure to prevent further attacks or loss of personal data.
In 2017, its website was hacked and defaced for a few minutes by a group called Turtle Squad.
