Lions Festivals has awarded the first set of winners at the Healthcare Lions that kick off the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival of Creativity. The Healthcare Lions is split between two categories - Pharma Lions and Health & Wellness Lions.
In the Pharma Lions category, Medulla Communications has nabbed two Gold Lions, two Silver Lions and three Bronze. The seven wins contributed to the agency bagging the Healthcare Agency of the Year title.
The Gold Lions were awarded to Medulla's 'Last Words' campaign for the Indian Association of Palliative Care in the 'Integrated Campaign' and 'Digital: Online Video' sub-categories. This campaign also won a Silver Lion in the sub-category Digital: Social.
The 'Slums for Worms' campaign for GlaxoSmithKline's brand Zentel picked up a Silver Lion in the sub-category Standard Print and a Bronze in Print & Poster Craft: Art Direction sub-category.
The agency also won two Bronze Lions for the ADHD Symptom Stamps campaign for Johnson & Johnson.
India was not as lucky in the Health & Wellness Lions category though, where Rediffusion Y&R picked up a single Bronze for its entry 'Dipper Condoms', for Tata Motors. There were no other winners in the category.
On day two, jurors had also finalized the shortlists for Direct Lions, Glass Lions, Print & Publishing, Promo & Activation and Radio Lions. The winners for these categories will be announced on June 20, 2016.
