The member of the House of Lords expresses her views on the on-going Brexit move. She condemns the Brexit move and feels that they should either have a ‘good deal or no deal’.
She asserted, “A big no-no for Brexit move, it is a national embarrassment for us. We should have a good deal no deal.”
Dorothea Glenys Thornton, Baroness Thornton, is a Labour and Co-operative member of the House of Lords.
The main point of having a deal between the United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU) is to ensure as smooth as possible an exit from the EU for businesses and individuals - and to allow time for the two sides to hammer out a permanent trading relationship.
Thornton further expressed that UK’s trade will be in a worse condition if it left the EU. “Why will anyone trade with a small country, United Kingdom, when they can trade with the European Union. Everything will be impacted really badly; be it socially, republic-ally, and privately” she said.
The Brexit move is considered to favour the UK in a range of areas, including trade, defence and security. Yet many MPs in the country fear that Brexit might leave Britain tied to the EU indefinitely with no say over its rules and no ability to strike trade deals with other countries.
Brexit is an abbreviation for "British exit," referring to the U.K.'s decision in a June 23, 2016 referendum to leave the European Union (EU).
