Better.com CEO, Vishal Garg, fired 900 employees from the company over a Zoom call. Video of the Zoom call meeting went viral on social media where CEO was seen laying off employees in one-sided communication.
An employee, who appears to have been part of the meeting, recorded the call on her mobile phone and shared it on social media.
According to CNN, "This isn't news that you're going to want to hear...If you're on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately," Vishal Garg, 43, told employees of the mortgage company during the Zoom call.
“This is the second time in my career I’m doing this and I do not want to do this. The last time I did it, I cried; this time I hope to be stronger,” Garg said at the beginning of the video. More than a minute into the call, Garg says, “If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately.”
