Pune-based general insurer Bajaj Allianz General Insurance launched an initiative — Young Board — last year to enable its talented and motivated young leaders to engage with members of the Executive Committee on strategic discussions and dialogues.
The programme, which provide the management employees a platform to develop capabilities to succeed in leadership roles that they aspire to take up in the future, is one of the several unique practices that this company had adopted to ensure that its employees at all levels enjoy working with it.
For the company, says its Managing director and CEO Tapan Singhel, it’s an obsession. “We have an obsession with the happiness of our employees as only then will we have happy customers, because happy people can only make others happy,” he adds.
According to Singhel, Bajaj Allianz has always believed in having employee-friendly policies, a transparent culture and an inspiring work environment. Young Leaders Programme, Career Development Conference Process, Online Game-Based Learning, Mobibuzz, an in-house mobile app to help employees adopt technology-enabled learning 24x7, and My Job My Choice, a strong internal job posting and effective relocation policy, are some of the interesting human resource practices implemented for learning through gamification, building talent pipelines and creating a highly engaged workforce.
