After Maharashtra, Rajasthan Permits All E-commerce Operations
On the same day, Wednesday, Rajasthan opened all e-commerce operations in the state after Maharashtra allowed e-commerce sales for all goods, amidst the lockdown till May 3.
According to the latest orders issued by the Rajasthan government, ‘All e-commerce/home delivery companies supplying all items/goods’ is put under the permitted category. It includes the entire chain of their offices, warehouses, and home delivery persons, as per the orders. Accordingly, the Rajasthan government encourages e-commerce companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc. to provide the services.
This shall be done with the delivery personnel ensuring all safety protocols like masks, gloves, and sanitizer. In the orders issued on Wednesday, April 15 by the Rajasthan government, all the activities that will be allowed or restricted under the lockdown May 3 are listed.
Earlier on Monday, the Odisha government allowed the home delivery of all goods through e-commerce, at the time when the only essential goods were allowed to be delivered nationwide. As per the latest statement from the Central Government, all e-commerce operations – both essential and non-essential – may be allowed from April 20.
A senior executive from an e-commerce firm said, “We believe that there is going to be a massive demand for electronics and mobile phones and accessories as many of our consumers have been reaching out to us to know when these categories would be live again."
The Rajasthan State Health Department on Thursday informed that the total number of coronavirus cases in the state has risen to 1101, with 25 new Covid-19 cases reported lately. The overall death toll has risen to 414.
