The power supply under the PPA will be made from a new 1600 MW (2*800 MW) ultra-supercritical, the coal-based power plant to be set up by Adani Power (Jharkhand) at Godda, Jharkhand.
Electricity supplier, Adani Power has signed a major contract with Bangladesh Power Development board to supply long-term power.
Adani Power Jharkhand Limited, the wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Group entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bangladesh Power Development board for 25 years.
The PPA states the transfer of net capacity of 1496 MW of Electricity by the company to Bangladesh Power Development Board.
The power supply under the PPA will be made from a new 1600 MW (2*800 MW) ultra-supercritical, the coal-based power plant to be set up by Adani Power (Jharkhand) at Godda, Jharkhand.
The new power plant is a part of Adani’s Jharkhand investment commitment made in the beginning of the year during ‘Momentum Jharkhand Investment’ with the company pledging to invest Rs 20,000 crore in the various sectors including investment of ultra mega power plant.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, last month mentioned the creation of large-scale employment opportunities in the state with the new project.
The plant will be fuelled by imported coal which the company plans to procure under the long-term agreement from countries like Indonesia, South Africa and Australia. The imported coal will be received at Dhamra Port in Odisha and be transported to the project site by rail.
The new power plant also comes at the time when most of the critical power plants in the country are under the radar of commercial unavailability and environment degradation concerns.
