Adani Group Commissions 50 MW Solar Plant In UP; Invests Rs 315 Crore

Global integrated infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group is going to commission 50 MW (megawatts) solar PV (photovoltaic) plant in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 315 crore, informed the company in an official statement released on Tuesday (13 June).

It further added, “Indirect and direct employment opportunities were created for a total of around 250 personnel, and employment opportunities will be provided through the generation period as well.”

The company said, “the technology used for setting up this plant includes string inverter technology which is first of its kind in UP with crystalline silicon modules that allows miniature level control of solar power generation. The transmission line runs up to stretch of 21.5 km.”

The commissioning of the plant is under the National Solar Mission Scheme which was launched on 11 January, 2010, by the government, and aims to deploy 20,000 MW of grid connected solar power by 2022 and reduce the cost of solar power generation in the country.

With this solar power plant in UP, Adani Group has added another 50 MW to its existing portfolio. The group in solar energy goes up to 838 MW, spreading across Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.

By the end of this year, Adani Group will be above 2 gigawatts of solar installed capacity making the company the largest player in India’s renewable energy sector in various states, claims the multinational conglomerate.
