Indri-Trini, an excellent single malt product from the house of Piccadily Distillery, has quickly made a place among the best and unmatched spirits across the globe. Making its debut this year itself, Indri has earned lofty respect and has won accolades in the Indian as well as global market for spirits. In the 13th edition of the International Whiskey Competition, one of the famous global whisky competitions, Indri-Trini won a Gold Medal in the Best Indian Single Malt category of 2022.
Regardless of its relatively unknown origin, the single malt has all the makings of a fine beverage. The distillery on the banks of the Yamuna, water from glacier in the Himalayas and the area's environment permit the malt inside the barrels to naturally develop quickly. Detailed trials with spirits and wood barrels additionally lend sweet tropical flavours and rich normal tone to Indri.
The single malt, named after a village, alludes to the Sanskrit word “Indris”, which stands for the five senses. The word “Trini” refers to the three wooden barrels wherein the malt is developed—first fill bourbon, ex-French wine and PX sherry casks. It is distilled utilizing the conventional Indian 6 row barley, matured in chosen barrels, and blended cautiously to draw out the individual contribution of every wood without eclipsing the original taste of the first whisky.
