Pepsico India Launches Quaker Oats+Milk

Beverages and snacks major PepsiCo India, which is expanding its nutrition portfolio, has launched its grain dairy beverage Quaker Oats+Milk, co-created with former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Targetted at the youth, Quaker Oats+Milk will be available in two flavour - Almond and Mango- priced at Rs 30 and will be rolled out in 17 cities.

Speaking at the launch, Tendulkar said: “The straight drive, the pull shot, the upper-cuts and the straight down the ground sixes; all those were only a factor of my preparation. If you’re not well prepared, you have already lost, and it all starts with a nutritious breakfast. This is the only thing that’s completely under your control. I’m excited today with the launch of Quaker Oats + Milk, a product from PepsiCo India that I’ve been a part of creating. It’s a great addition to your breakfast table, to give your mornings a head-start, with fibre, calcium, oats and milk; preparing you for the rigors of the day and help you do more with your day.”

Quaker Oats + Milk is said to be designed for the convenience and on the go solution to enhance morning nutrition for young Indians leading a rushed lifestyle. The drink provides 10 per cent of the beverage recommended daily fibre requirement and 15 per cent of the recommended daily calcium requirement according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.

"PepsiCo India’s nutrition category has been the flag bearer of our performance with Purpose vision. Local innovation is the backbone of our expanding Nutrition portfolio with products that aim to redefine the nutrition category whilst offering healthier options to complement the rushed lifestyle of our consumers. Entering the fast-growing value added dairy segment in India with a truly differentiated offering from Quaker is a part of our growth strategy for this market. Our collaboration with Sachin Tendulkar has brought deep insights and expertise to co-create the new Quaker Oats + Milk," said D Shivakumar, PepsiCo India Chairman.

"We will be going to 16-17 cities but we will be going deeper in the southern states, because that is where Quaker is the strongest," PepsiCo India Vice President Nutrition Category Deepika Warrier said.

She added that the company is working to expand its product portfolio with its oats technology SoluOats.
