Patrick Kilbride, ED, International IP U.S. Chamber of Commerce in conversation with Chahat Jain of BWBusinessworld says that there are many different factors which determine a country’s rank in the IP index, India being a huge and diverse country is trying to maintain its rank by the rapid development. Initiatives like Make in India, Digital India and others are a major help in boosting the economy but India still has a tough road ahead especially for infrastructure and small and medium enterprises.
Patrick further added that international property has no effects on the vast section of medicines. 96% of medicines are under WHO and only the newly added fall under the international property. Thus, there is no direct control over the prices.
