The Ministry of Textiles, policymakers and representatives of the global apparel and textile industry will unveil a new plan to promote the sector.
An international conference on June 30 will lay out a ten-year roadmap for the textile sector's growth.
Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani, Power Minister Piyush Goyal, senior bureaucrats and top industrialists will attend the conference.
The participants will discuss how India can be a global sourcing hub and an investment destination. The event will highlight productivity and product diversification challenges for natural fibres and skilling requirements in high value chain.
A senior official said, "We aim to bring together national and international industry stakeholders to participate in focused discussion on the present status of the industry, current challenges and emerging global trends."
The conference is being organised by the Ministry of Textiles and will also see participation from different states as well as noticeable Indian and international industry stakeholders.
