The final day of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 concluded at the Adlux International Convention Centre in Kochi, with Team X SPARK taking first place and a prize of Rs 75 lakh. The event represented the team's second consecutive victory in official KRAFTON India Esports championships, following their success in BGIS 2024.
The BMPS 2024, contested over three days, featured 16 teams vying for the championship title and a total prize pool of Rs 2 crore. Team X SPARK emerged as the best contender and won the big prize. NUMEN GAMING and TEAM GODLIKE took second and third place, winning Rs 30 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, respectively.
The competition took place in Kochi, a city known for its thriving Esports industry. The event garnered over 2,500 spectators and peaked at 4.7 lakh concurrent viewers on live broadcasts, indicating great interest in the competition.
Karan Pathak, Associate Director of Esports at KRAFTON India, stated that the atmosphere during the event was fierce, with competitive play in all matchups.
Along with the main prizes, several individual awards were given. XSPARK SPRAYGOD won the tournament's iQOO MVP award, earning Rs 4 lakh, while GODLIKE PUNK received Rs 2 lakh for Best In-Game Leader. Other major prizes included TWOB LEGIT for Emerging Star and 8BIT JUICY for Fan Favourite Player.
Team X SPARK also won the Hero Xtreme MVP and Survivor championships, and players SARANG and JOKER received motorcycles as a reward. Teams finishing in positions four through sixteen received cash prizes ranging from Rs 12.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.
