The Noida International Airport (NIA) has reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of its first Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Range (DVOR) calibration flight, aimed at testing the navigation systems crucial for the airport's functionality. This achievement marks a pivotal step forward in the preparation for the operational launch of the Noida Airport.
The official X handle of NIA shared the exciting news, stating, "A bright and sunny day at #NIAirport set the perfect stage for a DVOR calibration flight, the first of many. The Beechcraft King Air B300 took to the skies, to ensure all @aai_official navigation equipment works flawlessly. #FromTheGroundUp." Alongside the announcement, NIA also provided captivating visuals captured from the pilot's perspective aboard the Beechcraft King Air B300.
In further developments, Noida International Airport has forged a strategic partnership with Bird Group, as confirmed by a concession agreement inked on 12 April. The collaboration aims to streamline ground handling operations at the airport, enhancing the overall passenger experience. Under the agreement, Bird Group assumes responsibility for a wide array of ground handling services, encompassing passenger assistance, ramp operations, and baggage management, among others.

Anticipation is building as Noida International Airport's first phase gears up for operational readiness by the conclusion of 2024. The initial phase will feature a single runway and a terminal capable of accommodating up to 12 million passengers annually. Upon the completion of all four development phases, NIA aspires to become a bustling hub capable of handling an impressive 70 million passengers annually.
