Expert On Consumer Insight
A rising star in the sphere of consultancy, Nimisha Jain has been a part of the Boston Consulting Group since 2007, where she is now Partner and Director. A core member of the firm’s consumer and technology practice and a member of its media and telecommunications practice, Jain leads BCG’s Center for Consumer and Customer Insight at the Boston Consulting Group.
With expertise in consumer insight and go-to-market and digital strategy for emerging markets, Jain has a deep passion and expertise in mapping how urban consumer spending is influenced by the digital age. She also has experience in sales and marketing because of her stint with Nestle India, post which she worked for the Monitor Group. Jain acquired a degree in management from XLRI, Jamshedpur and a Honours degree in Bachelor of Arts from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. Her strengths lie in market research and customer insight, go-to-market strategy in emerging markets, global advantage, urban consumers and the digital economy in India.
She is a global expert on “Consumer Insight and GTM in RDEs” (rapidly developing economies) and has extensive on-ground experience in India, China, South Asia, UK and Australia. Jain leads some BCG initiatives, such as the Digital Consumer and the Next Billion Consumers in India, and has expertise in product innovation. Jain has worked with clients in technology, telecommunication, media, retail and consumer goods spaces and has supported clients on a wide array of business issues ranging from new business build and strategy, consumer insight, digital business build, marketing and branding.
Jain has experience in channel management and distribution, apart from organisational innovation. She has co-authored various Boston Consulting Group reports, including those on consumer markets in India, which she believes is poised to go through fundamental changes. “As the first career woman in my family, I believe that nothing is impossible — when you put your mind to it, there is always an alternate way. I’ve learnt not to try and become like everyone else — rather to be myself, do what I love and ask boldly for what I need,” says Jain.
