A statement coffee table book – ‘Architecture of Justice’ – authored by father-son duo Vinay Thakur and Amogh Thakur, was officially released by the Chief Justice of India – Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sharad Bobde at the India International Center in the presence of many legal luminaries and dignitaries.
The book is a one of its kind, never before seen photograhpic rendition of the Supreme Court of India, the 24 High Courts and its 12 benches.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his appreciation of showcasing the architectural beauty of the court buildings, which are an integral part of our judicial system.
The corridors of the center leading upto the main event hall were transformed into an art gallery resplendent with pictures from the book, that showed off the court room buildings in all their grandeur.
The evening of the launch unfolded with addresses from the esteemed panel. The Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Ravindra Bhat – Judge Delhi High Court spoke about the book in high regard.
The 223 pages of this coffee table book are filled with the images that speak about the very evolution of justice system in India. The authors have included 20 panoramic shots –each 24 inches wide that show off the court buildings in all their glory. It also includes some stories and facts that make for an interesting read for architects, designers, photographers and the people in general.
This book has been recognised by people from the legal and non-legal world alike. It has been lauded by Sr. Adv. Harish Salve - Former Solicitor General Of India, Adv. Shashank Manohar - Chairman International Cricket Council and world renowned Indian Astro Physist – Dr. Jayant Naralikar to name a few.
The event was attended by a full roster of judges and lawyers and was concluded by a vote of thanks by co-author Amogh Thakur.
