Wipro Selected By New York HMO To Implement Medicare Payment Platform

Wipro on Thursday said it has been selected by Independent Health, a health maintenance organisation (HMO) based out of New York, to implement Wipro’s Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP360) platform. 

The initiative is set to start in 2025, coinciding with new Medicare changes that aim to make prescription drugs more affordable for enrollees through capped monthly payments.

Wipro’s MPPP360 platform will help Independent Health seamlessly incorporate the new provisions, streamlining the payment process and simplifying the management of prescription costs for Medicare recipients in Western New York.

Narayan Iyer, Vice President of Healthcare at Wipro Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the project. “We are excited to introduce our Medicare Prescription Payment Plan360 platform, better known as MPPP360, to Western New York. The forthcoming adjustments to Medicare Part D, which include the introduction of a payment cap on out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs, promise significant benefits for Medicare recipients. 

Dawn Odrzywolski, Vice President of Medicare Programs at Independent Health, highlighted the importance of these changes. “With the pharmaceutical industry’s continued escalation of prescription drug pricing, we want to make sure our members can afford their medications,” Odrzywolski stated. She further noted that enabling access to necessary medications is vital for maintaining the health and well-being of members.
