Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors announced its entry into the growing compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) segment with the commercial launch of its new Tata Nexon on Thursday (21 September).
Tata Nexon is the company’s fourth product based on the ‘Impact Design’ philosophy, after Tiago, Hexa and Tigor.
With an introductory price of Rs 5,85,000 for the petrol variant and Rs 6,85,000 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel variant, Tata Nexon is the most competitively priced SUV in this segment, and is definitely going to give a tough competition to its competitors.

The SUV is going to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Honda WR-V.
Price
Tata Motors has priced Nexon quite aggressively. All the three competitors of Nexon are priced over Rs 7 lakh. However, you can get Tata Nexon within a range of Rs 585,000 – Rs 685,000.

Out of the four models, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is only available in diesel powertrain. However, according to some media reports, the company is mulling over introducing a petrol powertrain for the compact SUV.
