Sony on Thursday (27 October) launched its two mid-range smartphones Sony R1 and R1 Plus in India. Sony R1 and R1 Plus are priced at Rs 13,990 and Rs 15,990 respectively; both devices will be made in India at company’s manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh.
Both R1 and R1 Plus will be available in the market from 10 November through Amazon, Flipkart, Sony centres and other offline retailers across India.
Both Sony Xperia R1 and R1 Plus runs on Android 7.1 Nougat which will be later upgraded to Android Oreo 8.0. The devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core processor.
The only difference in these smartphones is between their RAM+Storage configuration, Sony R1 has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage while Sony R1 Plus has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The storage on both handsets is expandable up to 128GB through a MicroSD card.
The Sony Xperia R1, R1 Plus feature a 5.2-inch HD TFT display. The smartphones sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor sensor, Autofocus, 8X digital zoom and LED flash. On the front is an 8-megapixel selfie-snapper.
The dual-SIM Xperia R1, R1 Plus are backed by 2620mAh battery. Connectivity options includes- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, and 3.5mm audio-jack.
The smartphones also offer Uplink Data Compression (UDC) to improve data transmission which helps you to download web pages up-to 50% faster.
