HMD Global, the company which handles Nokia mobile phones on Tuesday (31 August) launched a new smartphone Nokia 2 in India. Nokia has launched the smartphone at the global price of EUR 99 (roughly Rs 7,500) and will be available in the market from mid-November.
The new Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1.1, it also has built-in Google Assistant Unlimited photos and videos storage on Google Photos; also it will get Android Oreo update later. It is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 Octa-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. This Nokia smartphone has 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB through a MicroSD card.
Nokia 2 features a 5-inch HD (1280x720) LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with Autofocus and LED flash, on the front is a 5-megapixel selfie-snapper.
The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 4100mAh battery which the company claims can last for up to 2 days. Connectivity options include- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/GLONASS, 3.5mm audio-jack, 4G VoLTE and Micro-USB, this phone is IP52 rated for drip protection.
The handset measures 143.5 x 71.3 x 9.30mm. Talking about the body of Nokia 2, it has sculpted polycarbonate back and aluminium frame. It comes in three colours- Pewter + Black, Pewter + White and Copper + Black.
This is Nokia's fifth smartphone launch in India after Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 8.
