Naturals Ice Cream Founder Raghunandan Kamath Dies At 70

Raghunandan Kamath, founder of Natural’s Ice Cream passed away at the age of 70. Hailing from Mangalore, Kamath stated Natural's ice-cream in 1984 from a single store in Juhu, Mumbai and turned it into a big brand with stores all over India.
The ice cream man of India died at Mumbai's H N Reliance Foundation Hospital on May 17 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Kamath, known as the "Ice Cream man of India," was born to a fruit seller in Mangalore. His remarkable journey from Mangalore to Mumbai began at the age of 14 when he started working at a restaurant. Against the odds, he succeeded in building a world-class ice cream brand.
One of his standout achievements was introducing the flavor of tender coconut, which had never been made before Naturals. It remains a personal favorite of this writer.
