Micromax on Tuesday (17 October) launched its 4G feature phone Bharat 1 partnering with BSNL in India. Priced at Rs 2,200, the phone will be available at offline stores across the country from October 20th onwards.
Users can experience enjoy ‘unlimited calling’ and ‘internet services’ at Rs 97 every month. With this partnership, BSNL and Micromax are aiming to target more than 500 million population that is still internet unconnected.
Bharat 1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The phone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA selfie-shooter at the front. The feature phone also supports 22 different languages.
Bharat 1 comes with Micromax Entertainment app with which users can access live TV, music, movies, and videos. The dual-SIM phone is backed by a 2000mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE connectivity.
The phone comes with a BSNL SIM card but the device supports dual-SIMs which means the phone is not only restricted to BSNL’s network.
Earlier, Jio had launched its affordable feature phone in India at Rs 1,500 will be refunded after 3 years and last week Karbonn, partnering with Airtel launched its 4G smartphone A40 Indian at Rs 1,399. Micromax with the launch of its 4G feature phone Bharat 1 will compete with JioPhone and Karbonn A40 Indian.
