The price of jet fuel (Aviation Turbine Fuel or ATF) saw a 1.2 per cent increase on Monday, while commercial LPG prices experienced a reduction.
State-owned fuel retailers announced that the ATF price in the national capital rose by Rs 1,179.37 per kilolitre (kl), bringing the new rate to Rs 96,148.38 per kl. This hike follows a reduction of 6.5 per cent, or Rs 6,673.87 per kl, that was implemented on 1 June.
In Mumbai, the ATF price was adjusted to Rs 89,908.30 per kl, up from Rs 88,834.27 per kl. The variation in prices across states is attributed to the differing local tax rates.
Concurrently, oil companies reduced the price of commercial LPG by Rs 30. The new rate will be Rs 1,646 per 19-kg cylinder. This is the fourth consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG prices. The previous reductions included a Rs 69 cut on 1 June, Rs 19 on 1 May and Rs 30.5 on 1 April. However, the price of cooking gas for domestic households remained unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
State-owned entities such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise ATF and cooking gas prices on the 1st of each month, based on the average international benchmark fuel prices and the prevailing exchange rate.
Meanwhile, prices for petrol and diesel have remained stable since a Rs 2 per litre reduction in mid-March. Currently, petrol is priced at Rs 94.72 per litre, and diesel at Rs 87.62 per litre in Delhi.
