IBM, Gujarat Government Collaborate To Launch AI Cluster In GIFT City

IBM and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an AI Cluster in Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City.
This collaboration will look to support innovation and enhance collaboration among financial institutions by leveraging IBM’s watsonx platform. The initiative will provide access to an AI Sandbox, support for proof of concept development, AI literacy programmes and Digital Assistant solutions.
As part of the MoU, IBM will offer cloud-based software technologies and platforms, for financial institutions to customise and fine-tune large language AI models within a secure sandbox environment.
Additionally, IBM plans to develop a Digital Assistant solution to streamline the onboarding and integration process for these customised models.
In a statement, Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat said, “This MoU with IBM will help Gujarat to lead the country in efforts to adopt AI and drive digital transformation.”
Aligned with IBM’s global commitment to skill 30 million people by 2030 and train 2 million learners in AI by 2026, this collaboration will also focus on developing an AI curriculum for schools and universities across Gujarat.
