Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL Launching Today: Here’s What You Can Expect From The Smartphones
Google is going to launch its second-generation Pixel smartphones today (4 October) at San Francisco. Google will launch the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in the event; we all have witnessed much anticipation about the smartphones on the social media. Here is what we can expect from Google’s flagship smartphones- Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
The regular pixel is said to be manufactured by HTC and the bigger one by LG. Both Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL have been codenamed Walleye and Taimen respectively. The handsets will run on latest stock Android 8.0 Oreo and will be powered either by Snapdragon 835 or Qualcomm might also launch the Snapdragon 836 along with the Pixel smartphones.
Both smartphones might be launched with two variants of 64GB and 128GB with each having 4GB of RAM. Talking about the display, Pixel 2 XL will feature a large 6-inch QHD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. On the other hand, the regular Pixel 2 will feature a 5-inch 1080p HD display with 16:9 aspect ratio.
It is rumoured that Google is ditching the 3.5mm audio-jack from the new Pixel smartphones like the iPhones. Also, the Pixel smartphones will be either IP67 or IP68 rated water and dust resistant.
According to various sources, Pixel smartphones will also have a feature like HTC’s Edge Sense with squeeze technology. Any of the Pixel 2 variants will feature dual-camera setup at the rear but it is pretty clear, these smartphones will be equipped with a great camera just like the previous Pixel smartphones. Pixel smartphones might be equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera.
According to Droid Life, second-gen Pixel smartphones will carry a bigger price tag than their predecessors. Pixel 2 might be priced at $649 (roughly Rs 42,200) for 64GB and $749 (roughly 48,700) for 128GB variant. On the other hand, Pixel 2 XL might get be priced at $849 (roughly Rs 55,200) for 64GB and $949 (roughly Rs 61,685) for 128GB variant.
