Last year saw Google and Apple taking a shot at making a convertible 2-in-1 tablet for the masses as well as give some competition to Microsoft’s popular Surface Pro. While both of them haven’t come very close to providing a highly productive experience like the new Surface Pro 4, it seems that Samsung might have something up its sleeve that could be as good as Microsoft’s sleek tablet.
Announced CES 2016, the TabPro S is one of the slimmest Windows 10 tablet around. With a thickness of 6.3 mm and weight of just 693 grams, Samsung’s tablet is thinner and lighter than the Surface Pro 4 and the iPad Pro. With a metal frame around the edges, the tablet comes with openings for a pair of stereo speakers, a USB Type-C port and 3.5-mm audio connector. The onboard storage options include 128GB and 256GB SSD but there is no card expansion slot which would have been a great addition. It will also feature what sounds like an impressive 12-inch Super AMOLED display offering deep blacks, excellent viewing angles and rich colors at a resolution of 2160x1440 pixel.
The tablet will be powered by Intel's new Core M processor which is a nimble chip coupled with 4GB of RAM to provide enough power for everyday workloads, but mind you that won’t churn out high-end performance for gaming. Samsung is also throwing in a 4G LTE radio option along with a battery life of about 10-hours.
Prices for the TabPro S haven’t been confirmed but is expected to go from €999 (Rs. 73,000 approx) to up to €1,199 (Rs. 87,000 approx) which falls in the similar territory as the iPad Pro and the new Surface Pro 4, however there are certain features that make the TabPro S an interesting device.
