Amazon Launches Kindle Oasis With 7-inch Display At Rs 21,999
After the launch of Alexa-enabled Echo speakers, Amazon has launched its first waterproof ebook reader Kindle Oasis in India. Kindle Oasis is available for pre-orders and will start shipping from the week of 13 November. It comes in two variants- Kindle Oasis (Wi-Fi) and Kindle Oasis (Wi-Fi + 3G) which are priced at Rs 21,999 and Rs 28,999 respectively.
The new Kindle Oasis has a battery that can last up to six weeks and gets fully charged within two hours. It features a 7-inch 300ppi display which is larger than the previous model. The device is IPX8 rated water resistant which means it is protected against immersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. The device is only 3.5mm thin and features an aluminium body.
The Wi-Fi only variant has 8GB storage and Wi-Fi+3G variant has 32GB of storage. Customers can also purchase a cover with Kindle Oasis which also transforms into a stand for hands-free reading. Water-safe fabric covers are priced at Rs 2,999 and come in indigo, charcoal, and sandstone shades. Premium leather covers are priced at Rs 3,999 and come in black or merlot.
