The 105 year old Indian Bullion And Jewellers Association (IBJA) based out of Mumbai's famed Zaveri Bazaar has appointed Aksha Kamboj as its first woman Vice President (VP).
IBJA declared gold price is used by the Ministry of Finance and Reserve Bank of India for issue and redemption of Sovereign Gold Bond and Loan against Gold jewellery by Banks and NBFC. Kamboj is the executive chairman of Aspect Global and owner of Indian Street Premier League cricket team Tiigers of Kolkata, which made its league debut this year and won the title in March.
IBJA has offices in 29 states across India as per its website. Since it was first established in 1919, the organisation publishes the benchmark gold rates twice a day. IBJA is also setting up its own Domestic Gold Spot exchange in Navi Mumbai.
IBJA has reconstituted its governing board for 2024-29 with Prithviraj Kothari of Riddhi Siddhi Bullion Ltd as the national president.
