Wipro Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Subha Tatavarti will step down from her position on 16 August, adding to the continued top-level churn at the IT company.
Tatavarti joined the company in March 2021 during the tenure of former CEO Thierry Delaporte. Her departure is the fourth high-profile exit since Srini Pallia took over as CEO in April this year. “Subha Tatavarti, Chief Technology Officer, resigned from the services of the Company to pursue opportunities outside Wipro,” said Wipro in a regulatory filing.
Her resignation follows the recent exit of Ajit Mahale, Wipro’s Chief Delivery Officer and comes on the heels of other big departures, including Amit Choudhary, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Anis Chenchah, who headed the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) Strategic Market Unit. Both Choudhary and Chenchah were also part of the executive team brought in under Delaporte’s leadership.
The ongoing churn in Wipro’s top management points to the challenges the company has faced over the past two years, which has seen over 20 senior executives leave, culminating in the abrupt end of Delaporte’s tenure with 15 months still remaining.
In late 2023, Wipro’s then-Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jatin Dalal, left to join Cognizant Technology Solutions, leading to a legal dispute over a non-compete agreement that was eventually settled.
