Wipro on Thursday appointed Sarat Chand as the new regional head and managing director for its Northern Europe region. Chand will report to Pierre Bruno, Wipro’s CEO for Europe.
Sarat Chand previously served as the managing director for the Benelux region and has been with Wipro for over two decades. During his tenure, he has held various key leadership roles, including solutions lead, account management and head of the EMEA utilities business.
Under his leadership, Wipro’s business in the Netherlands has consistently been ranked among the top IT providers in the region by analyst firms.
“Sarat’s client-centricity, focus on execution excellence and ability to build high-performing teams will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the Northern Europe region. Sarat will build on the foundation set by Vinay (Firake) in the Nordics and lead our combined Northern Europe region to new heights,” said Wipro’sBruno.
In his new role, Chand will oversee operations in the combined Benelux and Nordics regions, which include Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.
This strategic consolidation follows the recent appointment of the former Nordics head, Firake, as the CEO of the APMEA strategic market unit. The integration of the Nordics and Benelux regions into a single Northern Europe unit is aimed at driving growth and operational efficiency.
