Japan
Japanese Ambassador basically focused on the participation of more than 15 Japanese companies of CEO level in the event especially in the cold chain sector along with an entire supply chain management from farm to fork. Japan had also invested in India a massive USD seven billion by various Japanese groups with a sound part of the ratio in food processing, said Ambassador of Japan to India. While Japan specifically emphasized on food processing industry, it was also marked by the Ambassador that India and Japan will be celebrating friendship year.
Denmark
The Danish Ambassador recalled the visit by Indian food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur to Denmark and said how she was exposed to the Danish decision-making process during her meeting with the minister of agriculture for the said state. The Ambassador also shared that our (the Danish) process has let India to decide for a partnership with Denmark for the event. We would love to join India’s food ecosystem said Danish Ambassador to India. Denmark in a known styled pitched for themselves as world's leader in food security and safety standard. Denmark which is already a major partner of India in the dairy industry will continue working on the front with more passion said Danish Ambassador to India.
Netherland
The Dutch Ambassador Alphonso started with a lighter version during curtain-raiser. He said, “My name is Alphonso, that is not less known to every Indian, we love having mangoes on our regular food plate while we don’t grow it”, emphasising upon the standard of food processing industry in Netherlands. In another clever statement, he said, with 17 million people, we in Netherland have less population than Delhi but we grow enough to compete with the largest farm producers of the world. The Dutch ambassador continued with the humour and said that efficiency of Netherland with a mix of Indian volume can do miracles. The Dutch ambassador in a very diplomatic way said, “We will be partnering in doubling the farmers’ income (the vision of current ruling regime)”. He also marked a point that India’s consumer goods market is growing at a pace of 15 per cent no matter what different sections will say about the GDP of India. He closed his statement with a Hindi liner saying “SHURU KIJIYE” (let us start).
Italy
Italian Ambassador recalled the age-old tradition of Italy which played a major role in the food Industry of Europe. He said, “Italian food industry is known for its social impact in Europe”. A humongous 50 billion Euro’s mark is something that they are eyeing to achieve in food sector said, Italian Ambassador. Coordination between academia, small and medium scale enterprise along with public bodies has let the Italy sustain on its century-old food chain in food processing said Italian ambassador in the closing remark.
