We Are Dealing With Rohingya Crisis Through Security Interest Of Our Country: Ram Madhav
BJP general secretary on Tuesday (19 September) said that there is neither politics nor religion involved in Indian government’s stand on Rohingya Muslims. He said that the government is tackling this issue with utmost care and security concerns for the citizens of India.
“Rohingya is a major issue coming from Myanmar. We have to deal with major challenge of dealing with infiltrators from across borders.”
“We are approaching this problem through humanitarian approach.”
He said 1.3 billion people’s human angle is being looked at along with keeping India’s security interest in mind.
“Rohingya problem will be tackled keeping in mind India’s security interest.”
“We are approaching this problem through security interest of our nation and religion has nothing to do with it.”
Speaking at the conclusion of the second Border Security Management he said that the biggest stakeholders which are being ignored in this are the people living at the borders. In a way they are also our guards.
“If these people are against India, then to deal with them will also become a problem. This is one aspect that our government is taking care of.”
He also stressed on the fact that India is trying to upgrade the capabilities border security agencies. In this regard, India-Bangladesh border has been sealed to the extent of 90 percent.
Talking about the road connectivity issues of a few borders posts he said, “We still have a number of border posts which do not have road connectivity. I assure you in next 3-4 years we will have all the border posts covered by road connectivity.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made sustained efforts to maintain good relations with our border countries, he said.
“It is because of our good relations with Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh that we have been able to tackle and manage problems like terrorism,” he added.
Speaking on Dokalam standoff he praised Modi government’s diplomacy and mature handling of situations. “It is the mature diplomacy maunders with China that have yielded us a fruitful result without firing a single bullet.”
We are upgrading our naval capabilities. We are looking at issues like port building in Indian Ocean.
The more we have better relations with border countries, the better will be the border management system.
There is a competition going on between India and China regarding who can dominate the ASEAN world. China is probably way ahead of us.
