If you didn’t get a chance to buy your favorite smartphone in 2020, worry not. In January 2021, the current month, many smartphone launches are expected including Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Xiaomi Mi 10i, Lava BE U series, Real Me and many more brands.
After Micromax, Indian smartphone maker Lava will be making a comeback in the domestic smartphone market by launching the BE U series of smartphones on January 7. The Lava smartphones are likely to be priced below Rs 20,000. Lava on Twitter shared a teaser which reads, “The game is about to change.” However, at the time of filing the story, there are no other details are available about the upcoming smartphone series.
For online shoppers, Amazon India will come back with the 'Amazon Great Indian Sale' may be back this month. Reports suggest it may fall between 19th and 22nd of January 2021 and there could also be offers on mobile sales, laptop sales, Republic Day sales among others.
Xiaomi has already announced that it will be launching its premium mid-range smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, on 5th of January. Reports suggest that Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G can be priced under Rs 30,000. Talking about the specifications of Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G smartphone, a 6.67-inch Full HD + (2400 x 1080p) LCD display can be given in it. Xiaomi Mi 10i will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and feature a 108MP primary camera. Also, a 120Hz display refresh rate is expected, which will be first in the segment. The rumored specification also suggests that Xiaomi has given a 4,820mAh battery which supports 33W MMT fast charging technology.
Interestingly, Samsung has traditionally launched its flagship Galaxy S series smartphones in February every year. In 2021, the company is pre-ponding the launch to January. The Samsung S series is confirmed to launch on the 14th of this month. Three devices - Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra are being brought under the series. The smartphone is expected to be launched with a flagship Snapdragon 888 processor in Indian and American markets whereas Exynos 2100 chipset will be provided for European markets.
Lastly, reports also suggest that Realme may launch Realme 8 series in January. The company may introduce two smartphones under the series- Relame 8 and Realme 8 Pro. The new series reportedly will be 5G ready and run on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor. The rumored specification also suggests that Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro will support 65W fast charging.
