After a successful round one, the round two of delegations of Uttar Pradesh’s top brass starts from today to invite investors from various countries to invest in the state and participate in the forthcoming Global Investors Summit 2023. A delegation, led by State’s MSME minister Rakesh Sachan will be hosting a roadshow and business networking meetings at Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates on Monday 12 December 2022. This will be followed by another roadshow and business networking meetings at Dubai on 13 December 2022.
It may be recalled that the Uttar Pradesh government is hosting a mega event Global Investors Summit in UP from 10 February 2023 to 12 February 2023. The event, being helmed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is being promoted extensively to invite investors from across the globe to invest in UP. Yogi has already delegated teams of state’s ministers and senior rank officers to hold roadshows and networking meets in various countries, inviting people to GIS 2023 and also, encouraging them to invest across different sectors in UP. The state government hopes that the event will not only become an important tool in meeting the goal of becoming a $ One Trillion economy, but also generate a large number of employment opportunities in the state.
Apart from UAE, road shows and meetings will be held in South Korea, Belgium, Brazil and Australia. State’s speaker of the legislative assembly Satish Mahana will be leading the delegation across various cities of Canada, Minister for Technical Education Ashish Patel and Minister for Tourism Jaiveer Singh will be leading the delegations in South Korea and Japan.
The delegation led by Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and PWD Minister Jitin Prasada will hold a road show and meetings in Belgium on 12 December and Sweden on 14 December. At the same time, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and Fisheries Minister Sanjay Nishad will hold discussions with investors on 12 December in Brazil and 14 in Argentina. Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Urban Development Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma will lead the delegation to Australia on 13 December.
It is worth mentioning that the round one of the roadshows has been quite successful. During roadshows in Canada, Mexico, London and Germany, a large number of foreign investors have shown a keen interest to invest in UP. Canada's My Health Center has even signed an MoU worth Rs 2,000 crore for setting up a Medical College, Super Specialty Hospital and Medical Device Unit in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Many investors from America and Australia have also shown a keen interest to invest in various sectors like Dairy and Information Technology in UP.
