UltraProlink HI-Q Groove – Bluetooth Speaker Review

Summer is here, making it the perfect time to snag a great Bluetooth speaker for rocking out at the beach, by the pool or even on a trip to the mountains. We've tested and reviewed the UltraProlink Hi-Q Groove UM0084 Bluetooth Speaker and here is our report.

UltraProlink Hi-Q Groove UM0084 is a relatively new name in the Bluetooth speaker space, the product though packed with features. But first, let's talk about Design. 

First impressions after unboxing and handling the UltraProlink Hi-Q Groove UM0084 Bluetooth Speaker is of a premium feeling device. The Speaker feels dense and well built. The review unit we had was light grey in color, but there is a Jet black variant available as well. In terms of design and aesthetics, the Hi-Q Groove has a minimalistic design approach, with soft fabric mesh grille in the front. On the top, there are buttons for controlling your music, calls and Bluetooth pairing. On the rear, there are an array of input ports. If for some strange reason you don’t have Bluetooth the Hi-Q Groove allows you to play music from USB pendrive, 3.5mm AUX and a MicroSD card. 

Tech 
Bluetooth Speakers are more about portable music than Sound Quality but lately, we have come across some really great sounding Bluetooth Speakers. Hi-Q Groove comes with 8W RMS power making it loud enough to fill a small room. Bluetooth 4.2 is supported and the Hi-Q Groove will happily blast music at medium volume for 6hours with the inbuilt 1500mah battery. In our testing we found the battery backup to be around 4-5hours depending on the volume. More power backup would have been a great thing. 

SQ – Sound Quality 
Hi-Q Groove with its 8W speakers produces sound with above average SQ. The lows and highs are not prominent while the mids are Hi-Q Groove’s strength, They are strong and punchy. At higher volumes, the sound tends to distort very slightly, but at medium volume levels, the sound signature is acceptable. The lack of depth in the low frequencies will be bothering people who like bass heavy music. Overall for the sound quality, we give the Hi-Q Groove 3/5.

Call Quality as  Speakerphone
The Hi-Q Groove comes with inbuilt mic, opening the possibilities of using it as a speakerphone for conference calls. We used the Hi-Q Groove for calls while testing and the incoming caller's voice was loud and clear while the mic on the device captured the voice of the speakers easily. The Caller on the other side reported sound echoing occasionally typical of speaking through a speakerphone. For call quality using the inbuilt mic, we give the Hi-Q Groove a 3.5/5.

The UltraProlink Hi-Q Groove UM0084 is a good product with the good build quality and premium look and feel. The multitude of source options also makes it versatile for all kinds of users. Priced at Rs. 2799 MRP the Hi-Q Groove is available at Rs 1799 online. At this price, With Decent battery backup and above average SQ, the UltraProlink Hi-Q Groove makes a solid case for itself.
