This significant progress represents a key step towards delivering a more reliable and efficient electricity supply to Bangalore's residents and businesses. Bescom's commitment to modernising the power distribution network is evident in the progress made, which promises to instil greater confidence in the future of Bangalore's energy sector.
George has been at the forefront of this initiative, demonstrating strong leadership in ensuring the timely completion of the UG/AB cable installation project. During a recent review meeting at Bescom headquarters, the Minister lauded the progress made so far and emphasised the importance of completing the remaining work to achieve 100 per cent success. His directives to Bescom officials reflect his determination to see the project through to its successful conclusion, ensuring that Bangalore's power infrastructure is both robust and future-proof.

Penalties for Damaging Underground Cables
In response to concerns about damage to Bescom's underground cables by private cable companies, the minister has called for strict enforcement of penalties. He expressed concern over the financial losses and power disruptions caused by such incidents and emphasised the need for stringent regulations. "Private networks are causing damage to Bescom's underground power cables during road excavation and cable installation," the Minister stated. "Cables should be clearly marked, and strict regulations should be established to impose heavy fines for any damage. We must ensure that stringent actions are taken against those responsible."
Bescom MD Mahantesh Bilagi, along with other department officials, were present during the review meeting, where they discussed the next steps to ensure the project's timely completion. The leadership's commitment to protecting Bangalore's power infrastructure and improving service quality continues to drive the city's energy sector forward.
