Total 49% Global Firms Lack Confidence In Tracking Sustainability Metrics To Reduce Emissions: Report
About 49 per cent of global organisations lack confidence in tracking sustainability metrics to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, according to a report by Locus, a prominent SaaS company.
The report highlighted a common trend where sustainability, although strategically important, often lacks comprehensive follow-through. Specifically, carbon emissions tracking is overlooked in 3 out of 5 industries.
According to the report, the UAE also secured the top spot in sustainability with a score of 4.16 out of 5, followed by India at 3.78, while Indonesia falls below the global average at 2.55.
The report evaluated businesses' performance across five key logistics metrics: last-mile excellence, customer experience, workforce empowerment, advanced analytics and sustainability.
Amid the crucial role of technology in shaping business success, a total of 79 per cent of Asian businesses are utilising technology to enhance their last-mile efficiency, the report stated.
The report which highlighted the state of last-mile logistics in countries including India, Indonesia, and the UAE revealed that about 84 per cent of businesses lack confidence in their processes to drive growth and enhance customer experiences.
Talking about India, the country scored 3.59 out of 5 in its leadership in advanced analytics, showcasing the growing reliance on big data analytics and cutting-edge technologies to optimise last-mile operations. In workforce empowerment, the country scored 3.42 out of 5.
Notably, the UAE emerged as a leader in last-mile excellence with a score of 3 out of 5, as about 70 per cent of its businesses embraced multiple last-mile technologies.
Additionally, the UAE topped in customer experience with an average score of 3.73 out of 5, surpassing the industry average of 3.53, followed closely by India, Indonesia, and other countries.
