Suzlon Group, on Thursday, said that its S144 - 3 MW series of wind turbines secured a listing in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy's 'Revised List of Models & Manufacturers' (RLMM).
In a recent statement, the company emphasised the significance of this listing and said it is a critical step towards a successful product commercialisation.
Suzlon has reached an important milestone with the official listing of the S144 - 3 MW series, which is expandable to 3.15 MW, in the RLMM.
At the Gondal location in Gujarat, the first prototype of this series has already been installed. It has a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a hub height of 160 meters.
Currently, the product is going through the commercialisation and serial manufacturing phases. It is clear from its strong order inflow that the product has attracted a lot of market attention.
Considering India's diverse wind regimes and terrains, the S144 turbine is designed to be customisable to meet site-specific requirements for higher Plant Load Factors (PLFs).
Highlighting the commitment to 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat,' Chalasani noted that the S144 3 MW series boasts 90 per cent domestic content. Suzlon Group has an extensive presence with 20.3 GW of wind energy capacity installed across 17 countries.
