In sync with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Startup India, Standup India initiative, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis is expected to announce the launch of the Mumbai facility of Venture Catalysts, a seed investment and innovation platform on January 16.
The firm which works on an all-encompassing model provides select startups support, working space, financial advice, mentoring and coaching, along with access its angel network, venture fund and effective post-investment support. It was founded by Dr. Apoorv Ranjan Sharma who was the former Executive Vice President at VentureNursery, Anuj Golecha and Anil Jain.
Speaking about the same, CM Fadnavis said,“The blueprint of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Start Up India, Stand Up India’ initiative will be the government’s New Year gift to the entrepreneurial landscape of the country. I’m delighted to announce that we will be inching a step closer to his overall vision of a self-reliant and prospering India in the state of Maharashtra with the launch of Venture Catalysts’ Mumbai facility.”
“With our unique offering that integrates all the pivotal requirements of a startup, from seed capital, technology, office space and network building, we are certain of creating a deep impact on the entrepreneurial domain in the country and of completely remodeling the way startup investments are optimised in India,” said Dr. Sharma, Venture Catalysts’s co-founder.
The firm says that with the launch of its facility in Mumbai, it will be providing early-stage businesses an ideal office space which would act as a much-needed springboard for their operations and success. It also plans to introduce a new breed of angel investors called catalysts to enable investments and connections with other investors.
Venture Catalysts says that it aims to have around 800 to 1000 active angels on board its platform in the near future.
