Samsung Electronics has introduced the availability of its "Circle to Search" feature on select Galaxy A series smartphones, expanding its reach across the Galaxy ecosystem. This function, initially featured on the Galaxy S24 series, enables users to search for text, images or videos on their screens with a single gesture, circling, highlighting or tapping content, without having to switch apps.
After making its debut on the Galaxy S24 series, "Circle to Search" will now be available on the Galaxy A series, including models such as the Galaxy A54 and A34, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ tablets. The combination of this capability with the Galaxy S Pen on the Tab S9 FE series intends to improve the search experience on larger displays by introducing features such as full-page translation, homework assistance and QR and barcode scanning.
The feature makes use of AI technology to give better and relevant search results, which enhances usability and interactivity. Samsung's expansion of "Circle to Search" demonstrates the company's aspiration to integrate powerful AI technologies across a wider variety of devices, with the goal of improving productivity and user engagement.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, stated that this upgrade is part of the company's efforts to bring new technologies to more users. "We are committed to bringing cutting-edge AI technology to a wider audience, enabling users to work more efficiently and enjoy a more personalised experience with their devices," Roh told reporters.
The release of "Circle to Search" on these new devices underscores Samsung's continuous collaboration with Google to enhance the functionality and accessibility of its mobile and tablet offerings.
