Samsung has declared the addition of the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature to its Samsung Health Monitor app, which is available to Galaxy Watch users. This new feature, when combined with the app's existing Blood Pressure and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring features, seeks to give users a more complete picture of their heart health, especially in recognising atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart rhythm condition.
The Galaxy Watch series now has the IHRN feature, which continuously monitors users' heart rhythms in the background using the watch's BioActive Sensor. When the sensor detects a sequence of abnormal cardiac rhythms, the Galaxy Watch warns the user about possible AFib activity. This message asks the user to take an ECG with their watch, allowing a more accurate assessment of their cardiac status. The integration of IHRN with existing health features such as Blood Pressure and Heart Rate monitoring allows consumers to receive more insight into their cardiovascular health.
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is an arrhythmia that raises the risk of stroke, heart failure and other serious cardiovascular problems. AFib is generally asymptomatic, making it difficult for people to recognise their risk. The IHRN tool is a proactive move towards resolving this issue, allowing users to monitor potential warning signs in real time, ultimately reducing the dangers connected with AFib.
The capability is now available on the newly released Galaxy Watch7 Ultra, Galaxy Watch7 and prior models such as the Galaxy Watch6, Watch5 and Watch4 series. Users can easily get the IHRN feature by upgrading the Samsung Health Monitor app from the Galaxy Store and enabling it in the app's settings.
Along with IHRN, Galaxy Watch users can take advantage of other heart health features offered by Samsung's BioActive Sensor, such as on-demand ECG recordings and an HR Alert function that detects abnormal heart rates. The Galaxy Watch's complete range of heart health monitoring functions makes it an indispensable tool for consumers wishing to maintain their cardiovascular health.
