If there is one thing that probably unites all smartphones users across different brands, it is drained battery in the smartphone. We all wish we could charge less and do more with our smartphones. Infocus Turbo 5 is a smartphone that takes care of that really well. The cheaper version is priced at Rs 6,999 and you get a 5000 mAh battery. For the sake of understanding consider this, the cheapest version of iPhone 7 has a 1960 mAh battery and is priced at Rs 56,200.
What’s Great?
Long Lasting Battery
InFocus Turbo 5 comes with a 5000 mAh battery which is its USP. It has an incredible 34 days of standby time. In terms of battery life it’s definitely the best you can get.
Reverse Charging
Turbo 5 lets you charge other devices. That means you don’t need to carry power banks. It’s one of the best features in any phone, freeing you to move around without the concern of battery life or charging other devices.
Good Design
Even with a 5000 mAh battery the design is rather sleek. It’s not at all bulky like a phablet just incase you are wondering because of the battery size. It has narrow borders to the sides of the screen and the 5.2 inch screen fits in rather well in the overall design. The grip is good with the 2.5D curved glass on the front and the rounded corners.
The fingerprint sensor has as a multipurpose usage, not only can it unlock the device but also start flashlight and click images. The sensor has the capacity to register 5 fingerprints and unlocks the device in 0.5 seconds
State of art OS - Android 7.0 Nougat
Consider this: some of the higher priced phones still run on older versions of Android and here is a phone under Rs 8000 which offers Android 7.0.
What’s Not Great
Mediocre Camera
The 13 megapixel can best be termed as mediocre. There is something missing in the quality of the pictures it clicks. The front camera is 5 megapixels is again just about okay.
Performance
The 2 GB RAM gets a little sluggish. If you are heavy into games etc, this phone maybe not be the best one for you.
Infocus Turbo 5 comes in 2 variants i.e. 2 GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage and is priced at INR 6,999 and INR 7,999 respectively.
The Last Word
InFocus Turbo 5 is awesome in terms of battery life and with features like reverse charging. It does appeal to a set of high use consumers for whom functionality means more than performance. I wish they had a better camera that would have made the deal definitely better.
