Reliance Jio is apparently in talks with Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to license Meta's Horizon virtual reality (VR) operating system, according to a recent The Information report.
The proposed alliance follows Meta's USD 5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms Limited in 2020, which became Facebook the company's largest minority shareholder. This investment cleared the stage for future collaboration, including the launch of the first end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp in 2022, which will integrate JioMart directly into the chat interface.
