Reliance has formed a 50:50 joint venture with Israeli apparel firm Delta Galil to enter India's lingerie market, challenging segment leader Page Industries.
The partnership will allow Reliance to tap into Delta Galil's expertise in innerwear and bring its global portfolio of brands to India. Delta Galil, a major player in the apparel industry, holds licenses for renowned brands such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Columbia, and recently inked partnerships with Adidas and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Through the new venture, these global brands will be introduced to Indian consumers alongside Delta’s own labels, including 7 For All Mankind and Necessities.
This collaboration is Reliance’s latest strategic push into the lingerie sector, which has seen the conglomerate acquire popular Indian brands like Clovia, Zivame, and Amante. Together, these brands recorded sales exceeding Rs 2,000 crore in FY24.
Additionally, Reliance’s private label lingerie is sold through its fashion chain, Reliance Trends. The company also has existing joint ventures with international brands Marks & Spencer and Hunkemoller International, giving it a significant presence across multiple price points in the market.
Founded in 1975, Delta Galil operates research and development centers focused on fabric innovation, performance socks, and bras across Israel, the US and China. The company holds a robust intellectual property portfolio, including seven registered patents, 12 pending patents, and eight active technology trademarks.
