Anil Ambani-led Reliance Entertainment has announced partnership with France-based Julie Gayet's Rouge International and Elisa Soussan's myFamily to produce actor Serge Hazanavicius' movie 'nOmber One'.
"Principal photography is expected to start in February 2016 in France, and the film will also shoot extensively in March/April 2016 on skiing slopes in the Himalayas in India," Reliance Entertainment said in a statement.
The film will narrate the story “of a quest and of the ascension of a uniquely talented young man, in a world gone mad, a world of commerce and mercantile deals”. The movie will also deal with a torn father-son relationship and will be set against the backdrop of isolated snow-capped peaks.
The lead role will be played by 24-year-old French comedian Kev Adams who is quite popular with the younger generation and has previously starred in commercially successful flicks Les Profs 2 and Les Nouvelles Aventures d’Aladin.
nOmber One is written by Serge Hazanavicius, Stephane Dan, Mary-Noelle Dana and Alexis Galmot. It will be directed by Hazanavicius whose career spans roles in over 70 French and international movies and 25 plays as well as directorial efforts in more than a dozen shows.
He is also the brother of Michel Hazanavicius, who won the 2012 Academy Award for Best Director and Best Picture for the black and white silent film, The Artist.
Interestingly, the announcement comes right before French president, Francois Hollande’s visit to India in the capacity as the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations.
Since 2009, Reliance Entertainment which is engaged in the creation and distribution of content across film, television, digital and gaming platforms, has had a partnership with Steven Spielberg in the formation of DreamWorks Studios in a deal which was worth $1.5 billion.
