Prosus, one of the global investing companies, has elevated Ashutosh Sharma to lead its India and Southeast Asia investments.
Sharma was heading Prosus’s venture arm in India until recently. With this promotion, he will be now reporting to the company’s Chief Executive Officer Ervin Tu.
He has been associated with the company since 2016. Before joining Prosus, Sharma had worked with Norwest Venture Partners and Qualcomm Ventures.
As a seasoned leader, he has been responsible for Prosus’s substantial funding and has led the company’s investment in Swiggy and Meesho. In the new position, he will work closely with portfolio firms like Urban Company, Mensa Brands and others.
Sharma, an alumnus of IIT-BHU Varanasi, is ready for his new role. Prosus is currently dealing with a legal matter in India. The corporation, which has invested approximately USD 7 billion in the nation, is entangled in a legal dispute with Byju's, that revolves around funding.
