Patanjali Ayurved, India’s second largest FMCG Company, is planning to hire young talent from leading business schools across the country starting this placement season.
“We have been approached by several B schools in the recent past. I have met placement heads and other chiefs from top colleges such as Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, IIM Rohtak and IIM Lucknow. They all have requested us to visit for campus placements,” Acharya Balkrishna, chief executive officer of Patanjali told BW Businessworld in an exclusive interview.
“We have hired more than 1000 employees from leading companies such as Hindustan Unilever, Colgate, Dabur, Godrej and Nestle. Now, we plan to hire freshers from the top notch business schools, most likely from the coming placement season.”
Patanjali, which is considered as the biggest disruptive force in India’s fast moving consumer goods market will hire about 10,000 employees in the next one year.
“Presently, we have headcount of 25,000 employees. We hired almost 10,000 people last year. Considering our aggressive growth plans for the coming years, we need to add at least 10,000 more employees in another one year,” said Balkrishna, who features among the top 10 rich people in the country by the Hurun India rich list 2017.
Haridwar based firm is looking at a two-fold jump in sales at over Rs 20,000 crore this fiscal as it plans to double its distribution network to 12,000 across the country.
FMCG venture promoted by yoga guru Ramdev is aspiring to further strengthen its presence and lead in most of the product categories. Company had clocked a turnover of Rs 10,561 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2017.
